Mama’s Mexican Kitchen Closing

Seattle, Washington: Restaurant owner Mike McAlpin at the front counter on the last weekend before closing. Mama’s Mexican Kitchen, a beloved local institution for four decades, will close its doors on March 31, 2016. Opened in 1974, Seattle oldest Mexican restaurant is known for it’s kitschy Elvis inspired décor and big plates. The property, which was sold to a development firm, will be demolished and replaced by an eight story mixed-use building.
