Ponferrada, Spain: Entrance gate of the Castillo de los Templarios. The Templar castle is a significant landmark on the Camino Francés route of the Way of St. James. The city was donated to the Templar order by King Ferdinand II of León in the 12th century to protect the pilgrims who passed through El Bierzo on their pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
