Classic Route 66 Motels

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Blank neon sign along Central Avenue. Built in 1947 next to the historic Tewa Motor Lodge, the building has been empty for years and last housed a jewelry store. The city of Albuquerque’s planning department supports the preservation of the neon signs along historic Route 66, many of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
