Seattle, Washington: Dried stockfish, or fisk, on display in a Viking kitchen at the Nordic Museum's 35th Annual Viking Days celebration in the Ballard neighborhood. The annual summer festival features Nordic food, folk music, demonstrations and a full-scale Viking encampment. Situated along Lake Washington Ship Canal and Shilshole Bay, Ballard is the traditional center of Seattle's ethnically Scandinavian seafaring community.
