Seattle, Washington: Supporters watch Governor and 2020 presidential candidate Jay Inslee speak at a celebration of Washington State’s clean energy future where he will sign the nation’s strongest clean energy bill. To the left is King County Executive Dow Constantine and the right is Andrew Lofton, Executive Director of the Seattle Housing Authority. The legislation, introduced by the governor in December, includes a 100 percent clean energy bill, a first-in-the-nation clean buildings policy, a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and incentives to electrify transportation. Inslee has centered his presidential campaign around climate change and environmental issues. The event was held in the Rainier Vista neighborhood that was redeveloped in 2010 as a sustainable mixed-income community in Seattle’s Columbia City.
