Seattle Department of Transportation employees remove a "Black Power" sign in front of the closed East Precinct after clearing the "Capitol Hill Occupied Protest" zone in Seattle on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. The zone, an occupation protest and self-declared autonomous zone, was established on June 8, 2020 when the Seattle Police Department closed the East Precinct after days of protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody.
