West Seattle Bridge Emergency Closure

Seattle Police direct drivers under the West Seattle Bridge on Thursday, April 23, 2020. The Seattle Department of Transportation ordered an emergency closure of the bridge after cracks in the deck were discovered during a routine inspection. The bridge, which serves as the main arterial road into West Seattle, will remain out of service until at least 2022 because of extensive damage found.
